About Soakaways
Building regulations require property owners to adequately dispose of stormwater from their buildings and prevent flooding.
To ensure water is dispersed into the ground evenly and quickly, you should consider the use of a soakaway since discharging stormwater into a drain will only be permitted if soakaways or other infiltration methods are not suitable.
Soakaways store the immediate stormwater run-off to allow infiltration into the soil. To be effective however, it’s important that soakaways are properly installed.
Some septic tank systems disperse clean water to a soakaway also.

Blocked Soakaway?
If you are suffering from overflowing downpipes or gutters or water pooling is pooling on your property then there is probably a large build up of debris in the pipework that needs removing. If access to the pipework is easy via a gully or manhole perhaps then we ,maybe able to high pressure jet the line through and remove any debris present.
We can also CCTV the line to ensure it is good working order and test that it is dispersing water as efficiently as it should.
If the soakaway isn’t dispersing the water as it should then it could be that there is a more serious problem in the line such as root intrusion or partial collapse somewhere.
If the pipework is clean and in good working order but still isn’t working as it should then this is likely due to the soakaway having failed or outlived its useful life. In this case the installation of a new soakaway will be required.
